ibreviary_webIn case you missed this, last December the Vatican approved the iBreviary which can be downloaded on to an iPhone. This is very similar to Universalis which is downloaded to Palm Pilots and other personal information managers. It is an age of change where more and more books are being made available electronically. The advantage is that you never have to buy another book nor figure out which psalms, readings, and prayers should be used for which day. It is all done for you. Another advantage is that you never need to purchase another breviary because the translation changed. On the downside are the cost and the sensitivity of the equipment, the need for batteries, and the downloads are not free. The Psalm cycle also follows the Roman Liturgy the of the Hours, not the Rule of St. Benedict.
