As the Presidency of Barack Obama begins we should keep in mind that it is very much the administrations desire to pass the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) guaranteeing a right to abortion in the United States. The National Right to Life Committee has on their website a petition to stop the FOCA. You can download a copy from this site. Please download the form and pass it to your friends and distribute it in your parishes.
While petitions are important, individual letters to Congressmen and Senators. Phone calls can also be very effective. You can contact your member of the House of Representatives or the Senate through the web site of the United States Congress. For the House members, simply type your zipcode in the space provided at the top of the page. Senators are listed by state. For those in North Carolina, a listing of Senators and Congressman follows:
