When we take time to look for God’s Fingerprints, they can be found at every turn and event, through life, but to see them we must be in tune with Him; He is there — His “prints” — every minute. We are never alone. Each of those minutes of life, we are presented with choices and determinations. We are asked to choose a course — a course of words, thought, and action. When we detach from the “world,” the soul wafts in the power of God which is likened unto wind — carried forth in measure to its love and faith.
“I am nearer than you think, richly present in all your moments,” the Lord says in a book of an old general Christian inspiration entitled Jesus Calling. “You are connected to Me by Love-bonds that nothing can sever. Ask Me to open your eyes, so that you can find Me everywhere. The more you are aware of My Presence, the safer you feel.
“Find Me in the midst of the maelstrom, Sometimes events swirl around you so quickly that they become a blur. Whisper My Name in recognition that I am still with you.
“Seek to please Me above all else. Let that goal be your focal point through this day. Each day presents you with choice after choice. Many of these decisions you ignore and thus make by default. Without a focal point to guide you, you can easily lose your way. You inhabit a fallen, disjointed world, where things are constantly unraveling around the edges. Only a vibrant relationship with Me can keep you from coming unraveled too.”
Expect to encounter adversity in life, we are told.
Expect to face “impossibilities.” We see some of these in the mirror of our families. Trials. Tests. There are no tragedies when we see them as opportunities for growth (and right decisions). We decide — determine — a direction and succeed in accordance with His Will and our willpower (determination).
Said a fellow who glimpsed eternity during a brush with the eternal (also quoting the Lord), “Each of you has the right to choose who you are in any given moment. Whether you choose divinely and use your life to most closely emulate God or whether you make choices that impede the growth of your soul is always up to you. Through free will, you determine what you take from each experience in order to shape your life and guide your spiritual growth.”
Give your impossibilities to God, and they are not impossible. It is not always a case of finding a way to circumvent difficulties, but rather facing them with Him. When we are positive, others feel this and benefit. When we are negative — even just in thought — this too is transmitted. Thoughts often affect others as much as actions or words.
Avoid excessive planning. You cannot control the future. You can’t control all that occurs today, let alone in the coming year. Be prepared, always, but not as if you are in charge.
“I did not design the human mind to figure out the future, ” said the “word of knowledge” first mentioned above. “That is beyond your capability. I crafted your mind for continual communication with Me.
“Bring all your needs, your hopes and fears. Commit everything to My care.
“Turn from the path of planning to the path of peace.”
Let it go. See your soul as a seed that best travels in the wind of God, Who sends it to its proper place, to where the soil is most fertile. This is a choice every moment: whether to let go and let God or try to do it for ourselves.
Impossibilities? Time-frames you can’t figure out? Distances you can’t fathom? Destinations that are impossibly distant? Problems with no resolution, crises without an exit?
Not enough “time” to do what you need to do, or get where you need to go?
Not enough in the way of resources?
Remember always that the Lord, in 2016, and any year, any moment, can bend time and space.
