Prayer keeps us open to the Spirit. The Spirit seeks to heal and lead us to fuller life; we all have an infinite capacity to grow, to learn, to love and to have an ever deeper relationship with the Infinite, the lover of our souls. Either life is an open ended affair, or it is a dead end when we hit the wall…..what we believe is a choice, neither is an escape from reality. One just gives hope, the other the promise of eternal nothingness. Non-existence is not always a fearful concept, it can promise a cessation of suffering. I believe that it is an illusion to think that we simply cease at death…..no, we all have a long hard journey, one we have not asked for, yet we are on it. So compassion is a good response to our fellow travelers, we all need support, love and yes I believe, prayers.
