I believe that God whispers to us all. I also believe that those who pray and meditate are more open to this inner conversation that they are often unaware of. Also there are people whose heart is open and tender even if they don’t pray, at least on a conscious level. For I also hold that the Holy Spirit does groan within each heart prayers and supplications for all.
One of our employees casually told me a story that happened to her yesterday. She went to her beautician (I guess that is what you call them, right ladies), to ‘get her hair done’. As she was leaving her car on the way to her appointment, she noticed some money lying on the ground. It was three bills, though she did not tell me how much. So she went in to get her ‘beauty treatment’. As the young woman was giving her ‘treatment’, she talked about her life in an off handed casual manner. Now the employee I am writing about is a very kind person so she listened attentively. Then as she was leaving, the thought came to her that the money she found was for this young lady. So she said to her: “I found this money in the parking lot, I believe I found it for you”. She told me that the beautician was shocked over this, but was very thankful for the help.
My friend’s heart has been touched by the Holy Spirit I believe. She understood her connection with this woman and through compassion and love helped her. When we pray, we are also connected to one another and this overflows into ones life, in how we related and see others…..it is the work of grace, all we need do is to stay open.
God’s grace can’t be put into some sort of compartment, we can see God’s healing love in many that we meet along the way, and all we need to do is to pray that we learn to see through the eyes of Christ, which are eyes of love and compassion.
