Following Mass this Sunday, June 17, 2018, Abbot Placid Solari, OSB will formally dedicate the Oblate meeting room. The room has historically been used as the College’s music room. For decades Fr. Kenneth Geyer, OSB, taught countless students in the very room the Oblates will now occupy. Fr. Raymond Geyer, OSB, served for over 16 years as the Director of Oblates and is still remembered by many of us. So it seems appropriate the room be named the “Geyer Room” in memory of these two modest monks who, together, gave over 132 years of service to the Monastic Community here at Belmont Abbey.
